Growing up Catholic I do believe in the divine intercessions of novenas. A novena is a form of devotion made up of prayers repeated over and over over a period of nine days in which we ask for an answer to one of our problems.
I said many novenas in my life. This past week a student asked if I wanted one of her novena cards. She said it looked like I needed one. She told me it worked when her aunt recovered after a lengthy illness. She gave me two.
The ironic thing a special friend's mom is not doing so well so in a sense the student saw their need through me.
After she gave me the cards, I did not see her anymore nor did I see her leave the building.
Was the Holy Spirit working through this young woman? Was there divine intervention? I believe there was because it was a way to give hope for someone who is running low on it.
How many of us have been touched by novenas and did not know it?
