License to carry

If anyone looked at me, you probably thought I never shot a gun in which they would be wrong. I have tried many things in my life and firing a gun is one of them.

I shot a gun in my life about three times. The times I went shooting I did it ambidextrously. That being said, I was a wild shot. I did connect with the target but not where I was supposed to aim.

Anyway, I don't think the firing range wants me back.

Research clinic

Today is the last Wednesday 3pm -5pm Research Clinic here in the library. With only one more hour to go, we have had a total of six people who used this service. It is a shame because it's a way for us to market ourselves more and assist the students during the last two weeks of classes.

I was fortunate for I assisted five of the six students. I guess they know who the most congenial person to come to when needing help. Ha!

I wonder if other librarians are experiencing this decrease in Reference service.

Junk

I brought some more archival treasures from my parents place. In this latest trove of goodies, there was stuff from about ten years ago which includes letters, cards and photos. Today this stuff is in front of me and I'm wondering why I even kept it. I guess the main reason is that I'm a librarian and I love collecting the printed word for things that contain me.

I'm going to make a concerted effort to purge myself of some of these things that no longer have any meaning in my life. Of course I will keep the pics. of me and anything that has my name on it.

Gardening

One thing I must admit I'm not that efficient in the backyard. I only cut the grass once in my life, raked leaves multiple times, and pulled weeds. Other than that I am a neophyte in the vast wilderness of my yard.

Why all of a sudden do I want to garden? Well for one, I have my own place and I would like to put my own personality into it. According to my friend, Ed he says, " I have the perfect size for a mini garden." Plus, Ed is a master gardener; so, he is going to help me. He already bought me some plants such as tomatoes, dill, daisies and others.

I'm looking forward to it since I never really undertook a gardening project. I assisted my mom when we started a garden when I was around eight. Our neighbor, Mr. Stone had helped us. He was a spry 80 old man who was amazing with all his gardening abilities.

Unfortunately, we only did it one year since my mom did not want to invest time into next year. The garden patch eventually became the driveway.

Another reason I'm excited about the project is my friend Ed will be helping me. It's always more fun when you have someone to enjoy it with.

Activities for little tykes

My little nieces have signed up to play, little Tykes baseball. This will allow them to interact with other children around their own age.

I remember being their age and some of the things my parents signed me up for. When I was five, I was a Brownie and and when around age six, they had signed me up for Camp Whitehall, a week summer camp in Whitehall Township.

Anyway, its nice to reminisce and remember that we were young once too.

Time

It takes so much time in life to do the things we like to do. One of those things is writing in my blog, but for some unbeknown reason I can not keep up with it and I leave gaps between an old one and my latest one.

I think it is because I have so much good things in my life I forget to hilight them in my blog.

I will try to do better. I must.

Cooking

One thing I never had an interest in learning is how to cook. In my life, I have a Mom who is a great cook and baker, while my Dad is no slouch in the kitchen either. So, why should I bother? I'll just let them cook for me for the rest of my life.

With that juvenile mindset, I had a wakeup call when I moved out on my own and needed to cook so, I can stay alive. Plus, when I have company, I will need to cook for them.

Alas, where should I begin. I've started easy with our DeSales cookbook and started using the crockpot that Aunt Nancy and Uncle tom bought me.

I am proud to say I can make chicken, pasta and some tasty treats along the way.

I guess I never wanted to cook mainly because I did not want to grow up.

NCAA Basketball tournament

Butler almost beat top rated Duke in the College basketball tournament by bowing out at 61-59. This would have been one of the best Cinderella story in all of college basketball history. Congratulations Duke for being college basketball's # 1 team, again.

Mr. March

Okay this is the moment you all have been waiting for: did I meet Mr. March?

Well I have been able to reconnect with someone I used to know. Does that make him Mr. March? Well, that would be unfair to him to say since nobody wants the ramblings of a psychic to define one's relationship.

Predicition about Dog

Way back in the distant past, I had gone to a psychic and she mentioned that there would be a little dog in my life. Eight months into my future, it occurred to me that the little dog is my neighbors: Jarret and Mandy. I could not tell you what kind it is but it is little and hardly barks, for that reason, I I forgot that they have one.

In Society Hill, there are lots of dogs hardly any cats. So, the psychic's general prediction which anyone could have predicted came true.

Okay, one prediction I can scratch off my list.

Easter Sunday April 4th 2010

Easter Sunday 2010

Easter Sunday in a synopsis:

Went to 9:30am mass with my sister-in-law, Tara. She went solo because the girls are sick and Bob went to 7:30am with my dad.

Monsignor Kozel had mass. I enjoyed his homily. In it he mentioned, that when we sin or if bad things happen to us, Jesus our Lord, turns the ugliness into good.

Bob, Tara and the girls came to my folks as so did I, and we emptied the loot that the Easter Bunny left us.

Went to cousin Donna Wagner's house for lunch. Cousin Dale was down for fishing yesterday; so, he decided to stay another day and then go back to Virginia, where he is working. His family is in Maine.

Then went to Uncle Steve "Peak" Mokris' house for a visit.

Then I went home to my place. It's where being all alone for my first Easter.

Amen. Thank you Jesus for dying and rising for my sins! Alleluia ! Happy Easter.
