John Irving

Werewolves, vampires, fairies and gangster genres fill our days in the literature we read, movies we see and mark the headlines of our newspapers. Literature is not dead and this is evident by one of the few prolific writers of our time who is still around: John Irving.

Visit Amazon.com and see that Irving has written novels that can truly be classified as American literature.

Besides being a great author, he is a caring person. He took the time from his busy schedule to autograph a book for my boyfriend's mom. He did not have to do this and could have brushed it aside. I too thank his publicist.

By this simple act, he has made me a fan and I will start reading some of his books instead of the fantasy genre that I have found myself entrenched in.
